In the following years she was approached for roles in film and finally she made her on-screen debut from Kannada film Aishwarya in 2006.Gradually she entered into Hindi film, Deepika got her first Bolywood break in the film Om Shanti Om opposite superstar Shahrukh Khan in 2007, which became a blockbuster movie of the year also received Filmfare award for best female debut.
